MC hosted a delegation team of 5 members from Tianjin from February 16-18, 2004. This team is an advance team visiting Singapore, prior to the visit of Tianjin Mayor Dai Xiang Long in April 2004. These visits are in response to the Majulah Connection mission that visited Tianjin in October 2003. The Tianjin delegation was led by Mr Chen Liming (Vice Director, Tianjin Commission of Foreign Economic Relations and Trade) and the team includes Mr Zhou Jian (Vice Director, Tianjin Bureau of Planning and Land Resources), Mr Zhang Wengang (Vice Director of Foreign Investment Department, Tianjin Commission of Foreign Economic Relations and Trade), Mr Chen Lanyi (Vice Director, Investment Promotion Center of TEDA), Ms Li Yayun (Assistant Director, Investment Promotion Center of TEDA).

The objective of the mission is to meet with Singapore enterprises interested to collaborate with Tianjin in its massive development program for the next 5-10 years. The 3-day visits included meetings with PSA Corporation, Urban Redevelopment Authority, Singapore Tourism Board, SembCorp Industries, Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, REDAS, HDB Corporation, National Computer Systems, Nova Hub, Singapore Manufacturer Association, and members of the mission that visited Tianjin in October 2003.

The areas of interests includes :
1) Infrastructure development for ports, airports and civil construction projects
2) City planning/housing/real estate development, and redevelopment of the old Tianjin city (including the famed Tianjin foreign concession areas by the Haihe River)
3) Tourism development projects
4) Manufacturing projects (TEDA- the Tianjin Economic Development Area is the largest industrial estate in Northern China. See http://www.investteda.org)
5) Logistics and supply chain management projects
6) Tertiary services such as financial, education and other professional services
