The debates on the establishment of the IRs in Singapore has been intense, and some strong views were expressed.  Whatever your persuasion, it must be recognized that the introduction of the IRs will have impacts on many sectors of the economy, not just the real estate and MICE sector.

With this interest in the economic impacts that larger international events in Singapore will bring to the local economy/business, we invited Mr Warren Buckley, a leading international authority on the MICE business to speak on the topic. He is currently the CEO of Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre.

The talk and discussion touched on the implications of IRs, and other large events (eg. The IMF WorldBank Annual Meetings 2006) coming to Singapore soon, on the industry.
