For our engagement efforts to be truly meaningful, we envisage a tripartite working relationship – that of the government, private sector and the Overseas Singaporean community. I met about 80 of our top corporate leaders from Singapore and foreign companies over a series of lunches this year. Many are keen to develop a relationship with our Overseas Singaporean community. They tell me they need people like you – outward-looking, versatile, cosmopolitan and adaptable. They are keen to hire Overseas Singaporean graduates and professionals to staff their operations, in both their Singapore and overseas offices, including those in Southeast Asia, China and India. My colleagues from the OSU will provide a more detailed presentation on this and the other initiatives that we intend to roll out. We hope that the OSU will evolve into a familiar friend and partner for all Overseas Singaporeans in time to come.....
